What are your thoughts on the name Leighton (lay-tin) for a girl? What are your thoughts on the combos Leighton Mae Nicole or Leighton Maeve Nicole? Does Leighton sound okay as a sister to Corinne, Weston, and Keely?
I love it. It was on our list until I read an article saying it was one of the top girl names growing in popularity in 2010. (I think it might've been top 5?) If popularity isn't a big deal to you, then I vote .
ETA: The article was posted on here so maybe someone will share it again. I tried looking for it and I can't find it. (It was a month or so ago.)
ETA2: I should also mention that it was so high on our list because we were looking to incorporate "Leigh" in to a a future child's name in honor of DH's daughter with the MN "Leigh" that passed away. It really grew on us because of the significance, but I am not sure it's a name that would stick out to me otherwise.
Leighton and Keely sound okay together, both sound modern and from surnames. I think Leighton is too masculine to be on a girl and too similar to Weston to use. What about; Audrey, Leah, Harper, Darcy, Lucy, Delaney (more fem sounding surname), Sadie, Ainsley, Tatum, Bridget.
An attempt at a feminization of the surname, Layton. It's obviously feminine, so the spelling works, but I do feel the need to caution you. My overweight friend pointed out to me that no girl should have the word, TON in her name.
Re: Leighton?
I think it goes will with the sibs

LOVE Maeve vs the more popular Mae.

All I think of is the painter Lord Fredric Leighton, it doesn't seem very feminine to me at all. And as pp's have pointed out it's just like Layton.
I love Maeve though!
my first thought was "Meester?"
This.
This as well!
I like Leighton Mae Nicole. It flows nicely and it is a very pretty name. It has that Southern ring to it.
It's pronounced LAY-ton because of the -eight, same as eight and weight.
