I know this has been asked before, but I don't remember the answers given! I was just given a boatload of clothes for LO and a dresser and I'm ready to start working on organizing clothes and such. When is a good time to get things laundered? If I wash the clothes now, will I need to wash them again before he wears them when he arrives in 8 weeks? Or will washing now be okay?
TIA!

Washing baby clothes in general is just to remove any outside particles/ contamination that may have been attached during the manufacturing/ selling process, so you know to reduce any germs from getting to the baby. Washing once should be good enough since they will be stored in a clean place, so if you wash them now, you are good to go. If you wash them later, you are also good to go, but you also run the risk of not having them ready for when the baby comes. However, the baby could've came a lot earlier than now, so it's not a huge risk or anything. You only need to wash once unless your house/ storage is dusty or something. Some people like to hold out just in case they get a big baby or something.
I personally am not washing them until around 35 weeks (2 more weeks) when I go on maternity leave.... but that's only because I want to have something to do then and not be bored. HAHA I know, lame lol I am only going to wash my newborn stuff which I just realized is NOT a lot
haha
