Elfster- if you never got a gift, or interested in helping come in

For those women who never got a gift, can you post here?

Also, those interested in helping, I was thinking maybe whoever is interested in helping could donate a few bucks? I think there may be like 5 people, so if 5 people could volunteer to set up a paypal account to accept $$ and send a gift using the donations that might work? Just throwing out ideas.

I don't mind sending another gift out to someone that didn't get something. It's no big deal. I know when I got mine I was so excited so I feel horrible for those that didn't get one.

I don't know the first thing about pay pal... but I'll take someone who didn't get a gift and just send them something if someone PM's me a name & address

I thought the Elfster organizer (Jenny55?)  could look up the people who never sent one.  Maybe she could send out some emails and see whats up.

This. I never got a gift, but I love baby shopping, so I wouldn't mind shopping again for someone else that didn't get theirs either.

We are doing Elfster on BGP.  But... I limited it to regular posters, no lurkers. They had to PM to let me know they wanted an invite and then they got one. 

It's just not possible to do an OPEN elfster like this.  People will sign up to get a gift with no plan of sending one.  So... as it stands we only invited people that we were well familiar with.  That way, no one gets stiffed.  

I would never do a public elfster like this.  I've seen this same issue on several boards that did them.  

Just some advice that next time I would limit it.

I never received a gift, but I did just send the person who drew me a message.  Hopefully I hear back from her

Yep, QFT.  We've had this issue a few times on my home board, and it's almost always the random lurkers nobody's heard of that wreck it.  It's also a lot more fun when you get people you 'know' anyway, and don't have to guess or send a generic 'eh, I'll get you like, chocolates and bibs or something' gift.

I feel so bad for you ladies. I love gift exchanges and it sucks when a few just "forget" to send theirs out. I'm actually organizing a Secret Santa Playdate for my mom's group and it's been nothing but a darn headache making sure EVERYONE shows up with a gift for their chosen child. I couldn't imagine stiffing a little person. 

I'd be willing to pick up a momma who was forgotten.

I didn't get one, but I got an email from my elfster on the 9th saying that she was putting it in the mail "today", so I'm still waiting but not too concerned about it. We'll see when it shows up.
