I just had my 1st ultrasound Thursday and we discovered we are having twins!!!! I was wondering are the side effects of pregnancy worst with 2 or about the same as one!
Each pregnancy is different - twin or not. I assume you are talking early symptoms like nausea, fatigue, etc? I puked just as much with my twins as my three previous pregnancies that failed.
Congratulations!! I remember you from the GP board and when I saw your post about your high beta numbers, I thought you might end up over here!
My symptoms weren't bad at all. I only felt nauseous one weekend, didn't throw up at all and barely had any cravings. Later on in the pregnancy I had fatigue, but not too early.
GL to you and welcome!!

I had no symptoms whatsoever. Like PP's said every pregnancy is different. Not every MoM has exaggerated symptoms. Congrats on your twins and good luck!

there is no way to answer your question, really. some people have super easy pregnancies (like me) and others don't. i had MS pretty hardcore into the 2nd trimester, but i carried two big babies to 38 weeks with no required bedrest (although i did ask to be written out of work at 37 weeks, but in reality i probably could've managed another week). it just depends on you and your body and what those littles have in mind for you.
Congrats and welcome! Like pp's mentioned, every pregnancy is different. My twins are my only pregnancy so I can't really compare, but I had nausea from 3w6d until about 11-12w, and a lot of fatigue and dizziness. My understanding is that in general, you will have more symptoms with a twin pregnancy (which would make logical sense since it's more taxing on your body, more hormones, etc.) but it varies quite a bit.
I really recommend getting a copy of the book When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets or Quads by Dr. Barbara Luke. Many of us have found it very helpful!
twin pg's are much more risky than a singleton - you should take extra precautions.... many outlined in Dr. Luke's book on being pg with twins, triplets and quads.
as for morning sickness, etc - Mine was worse with the twins- but it still was not bad at all (i barely had any with DS1)... i was a little more tired with the twins- but i was also taking care of a toddler while pg, too - so who knows if it was pregnancy or just being a mom that made me more tired
Congratulations! This is my first pregnacy so I can't really compare but I do have a peice of advice. If there is anything you want to get done before the twins arrive get it done ASAP! The sooner the better. For me it seemed like the further along I got the more new ailments I had...swollen feet, achy hands, trouble sleeping. It's hard to get anything done when you're in pain. Hopefully you'll be lucky and have an easy pregnancy
My m/s was hideous until about 18-19 weeks. I was medicated, I had to go to the hospital for dehydration a few times. Ugh. But lots of women pregnant with one have hyperemesis, too. I've never been pregnant with one, so I can't compare, and even if I had that experience I wouldn't compare, because not only is every woman different, every pregnancy is different, too.
Congrats and welcome! I hope you don't puke a lot!

I had barely any symptoms-- didn't throw up even once, wasn't that fatigued, either. My sister-in-law was pregnant with 1 at the same time and suffered a lot more than I did.

This was me too, I was put in the hospital for a day for a bad bladder infection and had IVs in the clinic twice. I was also medicated. I only have my twins, so I have nothing to compare it to, but my SIL was due with her singleton a day after me and had it way worse!!!! her M/S started earlier and lasted longer.
Like everyone else said, everyone is different. I hope you are one of the lucky ones.
congrats and welcome. my symptoms were very similar to my singleton pregnancy which was a few food adversion. the only difference was with the twin pregnancy i was tired all the time.
Re: Introducing myself and question
Congrats after all of those cycles!

Welcome!
I will say that for me, the morning sickness was much, much worse this time around than it was with my singletons.
Same goes for the fatigue....I really had zero energy and couldn't sleep enough.
Like others have said though, everyone and every pregnancy is different! Happy and healthy 9!
