Really stupid OPK disaster

I broke down and bought the digital OPKs and then took one without reading the directions carefully.  Totally missed that you insert the stick before peeing on it!!!  So not only have I been holding my pee for 5 hours, but I haven't drank anything either so I didn't water it down.  Now, obviously, I have to wait another 4 hours to do it again and I don't want to guzzle a gallon of water, but man, I wanted some cider to have my answer by now!  I am going to be getting up at 2am just to do the test b/c I don't want to miss my surge (if it's happening) b/c I am on cd 14 today and no luck so far!!!
