anyone ever have gallbladder problems?

Can you tell me what it feels like?  I've had three 'instances' in the past week and I can't figure out what's going on. I've had 2 people suggest it's my gallbladder. I'm sure hoping that's not what it is.  and yes, I will go see a doctor next week when it's not after hours or urgent care, unless it turns into urgent care :(

Re: anyone ever have gallbladder problems?

  • I have not personally but have had friends that have and most recently my stepdad had his removed.  Serious abdominal issues, pain, nausea, vomiting, etc.

  • One of my friends said it was worse than med-free birth, and she had twins with no epidural.  I have nothing to compare it to, so all I can tell you is that it was the worst feeling I have ever had, and led to me driving myself to the ER in excruciating pain and lurching into the waiting room like a zombie begging for good drugs.  It not only hurt under my right boob, but it radiated around my back...I couldn't stand up or lie down comfortably.  It was awful.

Mine was highly inflamed though on top of having a stone caught in the tubey valvey thing, so yours might not be that painful.

  • I had my gallbladder removed 6 months after dd was born.  The attacks were pain right behind my solar plexus.  I felt like I was having a heart attack.  One night I was in the bathroom, vomitting and was in so much pain I couldn't even call out to dh who was two rooms away.  I must have been on the bathroom floor for at least 45 minutes.  I went to the ER and they told me I had gallstones.  The surgery wasn't bad.  I stayed over night and went home the next day.  Three days later I was able to hold dd and be home alone.
