I think it depends on how involved it is. If it is quick and easy, I would say just subtract the cost of supplies, but if it is more involved then subtract the Etsy value.

I wouldn't so much focus on the cost. If what you make for one person only equates to about 10 & someone else is more towards 30, I wouldn't worry about it. I have two sisters and I usually buy what I think they would personally enjoy, not on the basis of "one's gift costs more than the others". I mean, I usually compensate one of theirs if one just a big, elaborate gift and the other gets smaller- but more- gifts. Just set a budget and stick to that budget overall, not for one specific person

I would love to do that, but my family is Baa hum bug and not Ho Ho Happy. The sort of people that tear each other apart for inheritance people. Yup, they suck big time. As long as we live in the same state though I play by their rules for the big get togethers.
