Question1: How often do you have to report your numbers? And do you report them to a dietitian or your OB office?  I go in every 2 weeks to my OB to have them reviewed.

Question 2: Is your having GD affecting your delivery plans? How long is your OB willing to let you go before inducing?  They haven't even talked about inducing, but said he's probably coming before Christmas.... Physically I'm ready, emotionally and mentally?  Not really.

Question1: How often do you have to report your numbers? And do you report them to a dietitian or your OB office?  I report my numbers everytime I go to my OB appt, which is now 2x/week starting next week.

Question 2: Is your having GD affecting your delivery plans? How long is your OB willing to let you go before inducing?  We haven't figured out if delivery plans have changed as of yet.  My OB will not let me go past 39w for inducing a vag. birth due to possibilty of baby's size.  He has only told me at this point I have an increase % for a c-section.

Question 1: Since I am only a couple of weeks into my GD diagnosis, I have reported my numbers twice to my OB at my appointments so they could get a feel for how my body is responding to the diet only. At my appointment on Wednesday, the doctor is concerned about my fasting numbers so I have one more week to see if they stabilize, if not I will have to go on insulin at night.

Question 2: So far they have done 1 growth ultrasound and baby is in 65th percentile. They have not said anything about delivery,induction,not letting me go past a certain time. So, I guess they will just see how everything progresses!

Question 1: My OB looks at them whenever I have my appointments, so every 2 weeks now.

Question 2: Not sure yet. With DS they induced on my due date. He was 8lbs 7oz but so was I when I was born, so I don't think that had anything to do with the GD. I'm hoping to avoid induction until at least 41 weeks this time, and hopefully go on my own. She was 40th percentile for weight on the ultrasound I had at 28 weeks, so they aren't concerned yet about her weight. I'll have another ultrasound at 36 weeks.

Question 2: Is your having GD affecting your delivery plans? How long is your OB willing to let you go before inducing? My baby being breech is affecting my delivery plans right now! I have a c/s scheduled for 12/27, if baby does go head down and stays at the 50% plans may change, but my OB wouldn't let me go past 40 weeks even if things looked great with baby.

1) I report like once a month.  They had me reporting every week for a little while, but my numbers were fine.  They actually told me that I may not have to report any more after next week, if my numbers are all still good.  I report to a nurse at the maternal fetal medicine clinic.

2) Good question.  My doctor hasn't talked to me about ANYTHING.  I'm really kind of p!ssed at him, and really wish I had the time/energy to find a new doctor.  But this late in the game... *shrugs*

 

Overall, I just feel left in the dark with this pregnancy.  I know, I've done it before, but this time around is SO much different than with my son.  I had no complications at all with him.  I don't know if it's because I'm a second time mom, or what, but everyone I work with is just kind of skipping over EVERYTHING with this pregnancy.  (Sorry for the mini rant)

Question 1: Since I am on insulin, I communicate with my endocrinologist via e-mail several times a week. Most of the time, she adjusts my insulin doses. I have an appointment with her every two weeks or so, although sometimes it is more frequent. My OB is not concerned with my numbers as long as I work closely with the endocrinologist.

Question 2: Right now I have an induction scheduled for Dec 27th, which is 39 weeks. This is standard practice for my hospital for when GD moms are on insulin. It's possible that this date could get moved even sooner, or that I might need a planned C-section because baby went from measuring at the 50th percentile at my 28 week ultrasound to measuring at the 75th percentile at my ultrasound today (34 weeks). I should know for sure within a couple of weeks.
