So I need your opinion ladies. My sister (only family on my side) is coming from out of state to host my baby shower this weekend. She is arriving on saturday which is the same day as her birthday. I bought her a birthday gift today and I spent $250 from the coach store. Something very classy and nice since I know she likes stuff like that. I also know that I do need to give her a gift for hosting my shower, especially since she did ALL the planning and invites all on her own and she spent almost 2 grand on everything and did not ask us to pay for anything because she knows we are saving for stuff for the things AND we just bought a new minivan. Anyhow, Should I make the birthday gift both a birthday AND a gift for hosting the shower? If I do get something separate I was thinking about mailing out a bouquet of flowers and an inexpensive gift card to her office when she returns home? What do you guys think? Or is the COACH gift compansate for both occassions? I dunno...
PS: We are also taking her out to a very classy restaurant the night she arrives, for her birthday.
Re: birthday/hostess gift
I know I would be tickled with the Coach gift. (who wouldn't! )
What about something small... for a thank you for the shower? like a charm for a pandora bracelet (if she has one).... something small like that as a token of your appreciation...but that she will have as a reminder of the shower?
I gave a wedding shower for a friend... I spent a fortune on her...the food, her gift, all the pictures... cake, decorations....etc. she did nada...zip...nothing as a thank you. I was kind of hurt.
