NBR POLL: Master bedroom color

We are finally decorating our master bedroom. I'm trying to figure out what color to paint. We have searched EVERYWHERE for new bedding we like with no luck. So basing the color from that is out.

What color are your walls?

Is it one color or do you have an accent wall or multicolors?

What is your color scheme?

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome!

Re: NBR POLL: Master bedroom color

  • Mine's boring off-white right now. We had intended to paint it when we moved in, but didn't get a chance.

We have a beautiful burgundy and gold bedding set we plan on using, but DH wants to paint the WHOLE room burgundy to match. I've been trying to convince him we should just do a burgundy accent wall since it would REALLY make the bedding blend in and would also make the room darker. I personally love green, and wanted to use a sage color in our bedroom.

  • What color are your walls?  A very deep red, the color is called "roasted red pepper" (I think it is Behr)

Is it one color or do you have an accent wall or multicolors?  All walls are the same color

What is your color scheme? Our dust ruffle is a chocolate brown and the comforter is a block pattern with the same color red as the walls, chocolate brown and gold - it's a sateen material.  The pictures we have on the wall have black frames with gold trim.

  • Our walls are a green color (no accent walls).  I can't remember the name of the color, but it's a very woodsy green color.  We like it because it's a cool, soothing color.  This is the bedding we have.  I was worried it wouldn't look good with the green, but it does.  One of my main bedding requirements was that it has to be washable.  Our last set was dry clean only and that was a PITA.
  • Mine is green and my bedding is chocolate, green and goldish and my curtains are chocolate as well. It isn't very exciting, but it was the first room we did and we just sort of settled on the color!

  • We painted the walls blue to do a blue/brown theme.  And honestly, I wish we would have done khaki or something on the walls.  Because now I am sick of the blue, and we have vaulted ceilings and I don't want to repaint!  I am thinking we will do khaki/tan on the walls.  Then we can change out the bedding more easily, without having the match the blue.

  • Ours is still the boring tan color it was when we moved in. We don't have much motivation to paint it either. We just get our color from the bedding, which is a sage green.

  • Our bedroom walls are white on white strip and we have white bedding (pin-tucked duvet from west elm). We also have a gold/yellow/tan quilt that we have on the bed. But it isn't really decorated, yet.

I'd love to add curtains with goldish yellows, some medium toned wood frames with wedding & family photos, and a platform reclaimed wood bedframe. *sigh*

  • What color are your walls?  blue.  I had hoped for a more silvery blue than what I got but I didn't realize you could get sample colors to try out first until after painting this room.  I still like it though.

Is it one color or do you have an accent wall or multicolors? all blue

What is your color scheme?  Blue walls, dark mahogany furniture, yellow/white bedding with a yellow sunflower painting.  Here's a look.

  • we have the wall behind our bed painted as an accent wall. it's a dark olive green kind of color... its prettier than it sounds lol.  it's very warm but not too dark.  the other walls are a light tan/off whiteish color.

  • Well, right now our master bedroom is builder beige since we just moved a few months ago. However, when we do paint, I think we are going to do the same thing that we had in our old house because I loved the color so much. It was actually a "custom" color - between Sherwin Williams Svelte Sage and Ancient Marble - a really light/soft sage green. Our furniture is really dark wood so it balanced that out well. Our bedding set was a darker shade of that sage color and chocolate brown. No accent wall - just the one color with white trim.
  • I like really modern decor.  Our bedroom walls are all painted grey.  The duvet cover is a black and white print.  Color scheme is black, white and apple green.
