Recommend your humidifier/vaporizer

Pediatrician recommends cool mist humidifier. Although this is recommended, I'm open to considering a vaporizer. Why? The cool mist humidifier we bought didn't seem to do anything. Or perhaps, we bought a crappy one?

Please recommend your humidifier OR vaporizer. I heard of ultrasonic ones. What do you have? Brand? Type?

I can only recommend one NOT to get.  The Vick's humidifier is awful.  If you tighten the screw too hard on the container it is next to impossible to get off.  Also you can't use the Vick's vapor liquid in it which makes no sense since they are both made by the same company.  You would think that if you made the liquid to be used in humidifiers, that you would make a humidifier that could use the liquid.

I agree. Our Vicks humidifier died after less than 9 months. It kept overflowing on the carpet. It's sitting out in the garbage can now.
