what meals sound good to you?

Due to nausea and food aversions I am having a really hard time planing dinner meals for H and I.  Really I can only stomach toast, bagels, some soups, and baked potatoes.  H is ready to strike here.  Any meals that sound good to you and could please  your husband too?

Re: what meals sound good to you?

  • Well last night I only wanted whole wheat pasta w/ little butter and parmesan.

H had that also, but made chicken with his. I am repulsed by that thought right now.

  • Im in the same boat. I've been doing greek yogurt and bagels w cream cheese. In the mornings I have been able to manage a bacon egg & cheese sandwich. So My BF ventures out to get them. He usually gets himself a wrap when he goes to deli. I have to say, he's been goo about not complaining about lack of food. I took out chicken breasts to cook tonight with broccoli. I hope I can manage. My stomach turns just thinking about the raw chicken.

Hope you guys work it out!

Howard is a cutie and that recipe does sound really good.  Mmmm!

  • Lots of soups or stew. I feel like the more effort the meal takes, the less likely I am to want it.  Ick! I think the crockpot might be my friend for awhile.

  • Maybe something with little prep work like spaghetti and garlic bread? That hits on the carbs you're able to handle right now and be a "real" meal for your DH. You can put sauce on yours or just butter/parm cheese depending on how you feel... Hope you feel better soon!
  • Oh- and I LOVE your dog! Just want to snuggle that smooshy face. :)

Thanks! It's a basic recipe but I always need to go off a recipe when I make it so it's not too thick/runny.

  • It's been pretty hard to find something that sounds "good."  Usually if I tell myself in the morning what I'm making that night, by the time it comes to make the food, I've talked myself out of it (because of thinking about raw meat or the smells or the spices).  So I have to do "spur of the moment because--well, we have to eat" dinners.  DH has been very patient thankfully.
  • What about chilis or stews?  I need to make a few batches of those and freeze some, because lately DH has had to do the cooking because that is what is throwing me off.  I almost lost it from the smell when I walked in the house last night and he was cooking the beef for cheesesteaks (which I had suggested).

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • I've really been wanting a baked potato with every meal, crazy!

Yesterday for lunch I did chicken noodle soup - fine, and a 1/2 chicken chipotle wrap - YUCK. I took 2 bites of the wrap and thought I was going to puke. But I did get a baked potato for dinner last night!

  • All I want to eat is noodles, soup, and bagels with cream cheese.  I made a pot of chili over the weekend thinking that would satisfy my soup craving, but Poppy is not having it.  Ugh.  Looks like DH will be eating chili for a week!

  • DH has pretty much been on his own lately, both due to my lack of cooking and the fact that he's reffing a lot of hockey keeping him away at night.

Since I'm the mac n cheese girl, macaroni and cheese, salads, and ethnic foods!

  • Your DH may have to get familiar with some take out or helping with cooking.  There are days that just the thought of just about anything made me gag.  DH made us grilled cheese and soup Saturday because I was just going to eat crackers ;)

To me soft tacos sound good because the meat is salty and there's cheese involved...

Does baked potato soup sound good to you?  I have a recipe for a good one.  baked potato soup
