Hey everyone!
I'm 4 weeks post-partum and am starting to plan my "Get My Body Back" fitness routine. I'm looking for other mother's who are interested in joining together to keep each other accountable and motivated - an Accountability Group! We can create a weekly, or daily, check in here.
A little bit about me: my name is Kari, I'm 31, Mom of 2 (5 yr old daughter and 4 week old son). I work in the fitness industry as a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. I also own my own fitness consulting company with my husband.
Pregnancy: I only gained 37 lbs this time around, which was GREAT, for me. My first pregnancy I gained 50 lbs and NEVER fully lost the weight, even with the amount of exercising I did - my body just held onto those extra 15 lbs, which was quite frustrating with the industry I work in. Currently I'm down 20 lbs, 17 to go to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I'd like to lose an those additional 15 lbs from my first pregnancy.
Plan of Action: I'll be doing a hybrid program of Turbo Fire and Chalean Extreme and replacing one meal a day with Shakeology, an AWESOME meal replacement shake! Since I teach Turbo Kickboxing here in South Orange County (home of all things Turbo!) this will be a great way for me to get my body ready to go back to teaching in January. Turbo Fire and Chalean Extreme are home fitness programs by the same producers as P90X and Insanity!
So, if you're interested, I'd love to spearhead an accountability group here on The Bump! We can have a start date, daily check in's, weekly/monthly progress check in's, etc. I'm also available to answer any fitness related questions you may have!
So who's in??? ![]()
Re: Getting my body back...
Awesome! This will be great! Why don't you answer the questions below (these can be questions that we all answer). As for working out, I wouldn't suggest that you get in to a full program until you get clearance from your Dr at your 6 week PP check, but in the meantime taking daily walks with baby will be GREAT! It'll help get your body ready for working out, get your muscles moving again (especially your core muscles!) and getting outside daily will help your mental fitness too!
Do you think we should have daily check in's or weekly? I'm up for either!

Oooooh! Me, me, me!!! I want in on this please!
I am 2.5 weeks pp and soooo ready to start working out again. My OB said I could resume my workouts as long as I started slow and listened to my body. I have been out walking since 1 week pp and am slowly getting my energy back and more motivated. Due to anemia after delivery, I tire very easily though. I was thinking of adding in some home pilate DVD's in about a week or so. I was running prior to pregnancy and in my first trimester (5-8k 3-4 x week) plus weight lifting, but stopped in my second trimester due to terrible rib pain. I gained almost 60 lbs with this pregnancy and so far have lost 25. I have 35 lbs to go to get to my prepregnancy weight and would like to lose 10 more (so total 45 lbs). Also, currently breast feeding so that is a factor to consider......

my biggest issue is finding time...i have a wonderful gym that i have a membership too, but will honestly only be able to make it there like two days a week...and i would like that to be for a group fitness class or treadmill time. i need good exercises that i can do at home, while baby is sleeping (: and i am only three weeks PP, but my nutrition has gone wayy down hill. i am so preoccupied with Addi, that i eat something once a day. i need a new nutrition plan. easy and healthy!
I am interested! I am two weeks PP and really wanting to get back in the swing of things, but trying to take it easy for another week.
