I know its safe to fly right now but with the way I've been feeling- especially with how tired I am and how easily I get worn out- I'm thinking my trip to Vegas next week is going to be a waste. We planned this trip in August as a little getaway for me and DH as well as a surprise for my SIL who lives in Phoenix. Our plan is to stay in Vegas for 4 days and then surprise my SIL and her family for Thanksgiving and the day after. Part of that plan is to drive from Las Vegas to Phoenix and though I've never been car sick before, I can imagine this might be the time I start! I'm wondering whether we should just fly out to Phoenix a few days early instead of going to Vegas and making the drive. I just don't know...
I want to make sure LO is safe and that I am keeping myself healthy and I'm worried that Vegas isn't exactly the best place to maintain a healthy diet and a comfortable routine. The whole point of our trip was to go see everything and do everything and just kick back and enjoy, but I can't see that happening if I'm feeling like this
Re: Cancel trip to Vegas?
If you still feel like you need a getaway, I think you should go. Honestly, you'd never be able to experience ALL of Vegas in four days anyway. If you've never been there, just being there is an experience in itself, even if you don't get to see as much as you would like.
As for the car sickness, I started getting car sick for the first time in my life last week, but I find that it only happens if I'm in the passenger seat. If I am driving, I'm totally fine.
Do you have cancellation insurance on the flight and accommodations?
Gosh, this isn't even something I was considering!
I'm torn, but think that the drive won't be as bad as you think?
I wouldn't worry about your diet, for 4 days that is just silly. Vegas has amazing restaurants and many healthy options. I will say that I've had issues with jet lag in Vegas before, as they are 3 hours behind, so if you are already tired, your first few nights may be a total bust.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
idk, i just feel so bleh and i don't want to ruin it for my DH
the nausea has really set in over the past few days and i don't know if its going to get worse or not (i HATE being sick).
if i cancel now i can get my money but back if i wait to see if i'm feeling better by the end of the week i won't be able to.
You can go out and get those sea bands, try peppermints to help with m/s. Just put it in the back of your mind that once LO does arrive, getting a trip like this is few and far between.
And if the car sickness (now that I've thought more about it and read someone else's post) gets to you, I do find that driving helps it stay at bay (but so does listening and singing along to music). Volunteer to drive
And if you do go - there is (or at least should be) an AWESOME Vietnamese restaurant inside Treasure Island.
I know how you feel, and would be tempted to cancel, too. I was just in Vegas, however, and didn't spend any time in the casinos or bars (even though this was well before BFP) just because I don't like casinos. I sat at the pool most of the day and it was awesome - very relaxing. Take the money you would have spent gambling or on a bar tab and get a couple's massage, or send hubby to the casino if he wants to go and get a mani/pedi.
Also, as to the smoking, I didn't notice any smoking in the casinos when we would cut through to go to a restaurant. I think it is really limited now, and not allowed in the corridors.
Most importantly, the moments where just the "two of us" can slip away for a weekend may end soon for all of us, so I'd take every opportunity to get away!
THIS!
