January 2011 Moms

Are we going to grow...

even larger?  Of course I am big but every time I see my MIL she tells me how much larger I am going to get.  I have 7 weeks left (planning on inducing) and I was looking at myself today and I just can't think I am going to be THAT much larger.  :0(

Do we grow ::SO:: much more at the end?

Re: Are we going to grow...

  • I hope not... which is probably funny for me to say since I'm "measuring small"... I'm huge. lol.

  • I feel enormous these past few days.  I cannot imagine being 9 weeks larger than this :(

  • Yeah... pregnancy is all fun and games until you start feeling all fat and not cute anymore.
  • Yep - every time I think of the fact that the baby is supposed to grow another 4-6 lbs, I wonder just how much bigger I'm going to get.
  • I was wondering the same thing. I can't imagine my skin stretching even more.
  • Oh yes. We'll get much bigger. Here is a picture my mum took of me less than 24 hours before I had my daughter. I was 41 weeks 2 days.

  • They say you gain about 10-12 pounds in your last Tri. My Dr. told me that most woman will stop gaining around 38 weeks and even start to lose a few pounds.

  • If delivered full term, baby will more than double the weight he/she is now, plus fluid!  So I'd expect to nearly double size as well!  :)

  • It is hard to imagine getting any bigger, because I feel huge as it is! Nine more weeks of growing to go!

  • Ya, we are.  The baby is putting on about 1/2 a pound a week, and we'll put on about a pound a week from now on.

Here's me the day before I went into labour:

And here I am after about 12 hours of labour, between contractions, and right before I got into the tub:

Yes, I'm being an AW.  Hope that's okay. ;)

ETA: It's not really super messy in the background.  We were in the middle of packing.  Actually, DH was supposed to start moving our stuff that day!

I remember saying "Oh man, I'm so happy this baby is outside now!" after I delivered her. I was SO uncomfortable at the end. You don't realize just how big you are until you look back and think "Geez, my belly was huge!"

  • I was just thinking about this.  I don't "feel" that big but I saw some of the pics from my shower and I couldn't believe it was me.  I looked HUGE! Maybe I had bad posture or something.  It was sort of unbelievable.

    Oh my.

This is me.  Yesterday my mom took some maternity "practice" photos and I couldn't get over big my stomach looked.  And just the day before I was told how "small" I am.  I feel huge!

  • I didn't gain any weight after I hit 36 weeks with my first pregnancy.  I am hoping the same thing happens this time.  I just cannot imagine getting much bigger than this.  I am already much bigger than I was with DD.

  • Ditto RHitch, with DD I stopped gaining weight around 36 weeks.  My stomach looked big for my frame but it wasn't huge.  This kid feels like he is not using all the space that his sister did...so maybe my stomach wont get to much bigger:p

If I remember correctly I stopped gaining wieght when DD "dropped" and from there my belly never got any bigger.

You made me laugh b/c I felt the SAME when I saw our shower pics!  I've gained a fair amount of weight, for sure, but I'd kind of prided myself that it was all in the boobs/belly.  Arms, legs, and face have been pretty normal...or so I thought.  My face looked HUGE in so many of the pictures (esp. when compared to pics taken with the same people earlier this year)!!!

    Ah, pregnancy...

    Ah, pregnancy...

    It's a trip, that's for sure.

The next day DH was putting together something in the nursery so he was laying on the floor and I was standing over him.  He said "Baby, your belly looks huge from here!". Um, thanks DH. :|
