Saturday Confession Time : /

I have to confess.

I had macaroni and cheese for breakfast.

And.

Old Navy's "give and get" 30% discount ends Monday (I think) and I'd been adding and deleting maternity clearance tops to and from my shopping cart for about a week now.  I broke down this morning and purchased a wool pea coat for DH, 7 maternity camisoles, and 19 maternity tops for $199.00 after tax.  It was so hard for me to really purchase things because it's so early on...but I'd hate to have to spend $20-$30 per top when the time comes.  The tops I got are pretty versatile, 3/4 sleeved and can be worn with sweaters or suit separates or jeans...I'm just feeling so sheepish about this.  The cheapskate in me came out and I couldn't pass up $6 and $8 tops.

So that was my confession.  Thanks for listening :)

  • I think 19 tops is way too many.  I am going to try to get buy with as little as possible.

  • Yeah, some of those are basic colored "t-shirt types" but I work and oftentimes don't have time to do laundry except for every 2 weeks

  • I want to apologize for your breakfast choice or take credit, one of the two! :)

Holy crap! That's highway robbery. Not including the jacket, that still comes out to less than $8 a top! Nicely done!

I tried to get by without buying much of anything with DS and really regretted it! I was soooo sick of my options, not to mention the fact that they were my post pardum outfits too! You're not going to feel sheepish in 9 months. Trust me.

Thank you so much for making me feel better, as always!! :)  And breakfast was "your fault" ;)  but it's really become the only meal choice that I look forward to instead of thinking "ehh ewwww, food."  Dinner will be much healthier, I promise!!

And about the clothes--I know it was some ridiculous clearance. I'm not a thin girl beyond not being pregnant so I figured the babydoll type shirts will last me from when I first start to show through summer and like you said, post-partum.  But thanks again for making me feel better :)

  • Mmmm... mac & cheese! yum!

    I love cheese!

That sounds like a great deal. I know everyone's been talking about this ON/Gap sale & I browse here & there. Ive been good about not buying anything.

My concern is that I'm not sure what styles/cuts will be comfy for me once I have a belly. I might just wanna wear dresses & no pants, or vice versa, so Im kinda holding off since I have no idea how my body will change, or my style prefs.

I've already done this once and I can't make a purchase either! I keep filing my cart and closing out . . .

  • Dont have any maternity clothes yet.. I probably totally would go shopping if I had any maternity shops near me but there are 2, and they're both 90 minutes away in opposite directions.

I did however have KD sharp cheddar for breakfast though.

  • Hey I think if you find maternity clothes you like and think you'll wear, then go nuts! I haven't bought any yet myself but I'm being too nervous about things. I think when I actually need them I'm going to be screwed because I'm going to end up paying full price. I say good for you :o)

  • Score, that's some good shopping!

We had mac and cheese for lunch today :)

  • Wow you really went all out! But if you're gonna do it, go for the gold. I actually just received my first maternity order from ON this morning. DH just laughed at me. I got two pairs of khaki capris for $9 each, 2 long layering tanks, and 3 other shirts. Everything came to $43. What a steal! It's all springy stuff too, since that's when I'll be big as a house.

  • That sounds like my kind of shopping :) Is the sale still on? I'm no where near wearing maternity clothes yet, but I love a bargain, and it's always better to be prepared :)

  • Oh, and I ate half a jar of pickles for lunch. Talk about stereotypical craving!

  • Don't feel bad...those are great prices. Plus, maybe when it arrives you will decide that you only want to keep some things. I think it is great to have options. Better to have it ready and waiting than be forced to pay higher prices later!

The sale is still on.  They have tops that are $6.99, $8, $10, etc. and you get free shipping on $50 PLUS 30% off.  I couldn't "not" even though I'd been waffling back and forth for about a week or so on it.  I got maternity camisoles for literally $3/apiece.  Too good to be true.  I'm just cheap :)
