Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Intro & ? about solids

Hello ladies!  I'm new to the 9-12 board. I have twin DDs that were born at 32 weeks.  We have been give the go ahead to introduce more "finger" type food. My DDs are not big eaters (formula or solids).   We currently do 2 meals (bfast & dinner) What does/did your 9 month old eatin the way of finger foods?  How many meals do you do?  What does your typical feeding schedule look like?  Any advice would be great! TIA

  • Our girl is still only eating purees.  She has been gagging everything except puffs.  Our pedi said some babies just take longer than others to get it down.  Good luck!

  • DS has been eating solids since he was about 7 months and eats many things.  Although crunchy things are his favorite right now (maybe teething?).  We do the Gerber puffs: wagon wheels, stars, puffs- all of them. Graham crackers. We get the little can of del monte/ green giant veggies: carrots, peas, green beans.  I just cut them up into small pieces.  He eats bananas: also cut up small.  Toast.  I buy the pureed baby food and put some oatmeal or rice in just to increase calories (he was a little underweight).  I got one of those net things that they suck on and put watermelon, honeydew, etc in it.  Warning- this gets messy.  Breast feeds before naps and bedtime. Sometimes after naps, but he doesn't alway want to lay down or sit still.  Most of the time, he sleeps through the night.  I don't know how much he gets.  I work and pump and have seen my supply go way down.  I now can only pump about 3-4 oz in a 4-5 hour period.  Hope that helps a little.
