Babies: 3 - 6 Months

This mommy needs some help.

DD fell off her vibrating chair yesterday morning at 6. She was compleatly fine except for a little red mark on the top of her ear. She was mad because she was woken up. All day she was her normal babyself. Last night after her feeding she started having convulsions  (sp?) and hey eyes were rapidly blinking. She had about 4 episods 30 seconds long within a 5 minute period. We rushed her to emergency, she was checked out they said she was compleatly fine. They made us stay to observe her if she had another episode, she did not. Since they could not see what happened they did not give us an answer.  My immediated thought was seizure... We will bring her to her pedi and request a specialist. Anyone have experience with this? Is it a freaky thing that babies do?

TIA

Aw I'm so sorry, how scary!

My BF's son has something similar when he gets a high fever.  But I guess since they didn't say anything at the ER that wasn't what happened in this case.  Hopefully your pedi and a specialist can work it out.

That must have been so scary to go through.  I hope you find out some answers soon.  Hoping your pedi or the specialist will be more helpful.

How far did she fall?  Did you see the fall?  If her ear was marked, I imagine she hit her head.  Was an MRI and/or catscan (whichever the brain one is!?) done at the hospital?  If not, I'd request that!!

Thanks for your imput and support.  She more rolled off the chair then fell maybe half foot. Now she is strapped in no matter what. We learned our lesson, even thoe Dh was right beside her and she has not rolled over yet, she can't be left like that.

Dh was there when it happened and she cried but it was not that OMG im hurt cry it was her 'you pissed me off' cry. As soon as he picked her up and put his finger in her mouth (she refuses the paci) she calmed right down and was smiling. He checked her over and saw no signs of injury. We noticed the mark on her ear later. It could very well have been from her nail. (She has tugged on her ears since she was a week old) Ahh theases LO are good at putting the stress on.
