What has happened to my body...

Seriously before I got my BFP on 10/21, I was doing BodyPump x 3 a week, and running 2 days a week. Well I got my BFP and got busy with things for that, then the nausea and tired came and the thought of doing anything could bring me to tears, well thanks to my nausea meds I was able to feel well enough to lace up and hit a local trail on my lunch hour. My dr. had advised me not to run if I want a bladder after the baby, so I figured I would go for a fast paced 1-2 mile walk.......

Holy Crap I hit about a mile in and had to sit on the side of the trail breathless and in back pain and just felt like I had ran a 5K or a 10K! Finally I caught my breath and made it back to my car and chugged a 32 oz. thing of water and now I officially feel like taking a nice long nap. Maybe tomorrow will be easier for me!??!

  • I'm getting tired a ton quicker now also...I used to go work out 4-5 days a week, and I've gone 0 this week...I'm just so tired!!!!

  • I find that I'm out of breath walking from my car into the house down 5 steps to get the dog and back outside. I'm usually running down to get her, now I'm trying to catch my breath before I let her out of the crate.

  • Just keep getting yourself out there! That's the important part! Your body will find a new rhythm with pregnancy.

Interesting re: the bladder part. I ran through 6 months with DS and didn't have any issues with my bladder that wouldn't normally be attributed to having a baby. Kegels are the trick. I've never heard of this.

See I hadn't either and I have known a lot of women that run while pregnant and I was actually still planning on running, but doesn't look like I'll be up to speed for that anytime soon as it is!!!

  • i used to be like you too. bodypump or set class 3x a week and then weight training the rest of the week. but being pregnant it slows you down. i got tired doing yoga! so i feel your pain. but even if you feel tired it's still good to go do bodypump just lessen the weight that you used to do. you will feel a little tired even if it's just 15lbs total that you might be lifting. but at least you're doing something. just remember that if you begin to feel faint to take a break and possibly lessen the weight. drink lots of water! gl!
