So the heart racing thing only last a few minutes. But it came with shortness of breath. They both went away when I sat down for a few minutes, but when I got up to come check dinner, the shortness of breath came back. I'm not really having Braxton Hicks right now (only a few weak ones), and I'm not doing anything stressful or challenging. What gives?
Re: 37 Weeks and Short of Breath, Heart Racing?
I have actual palpitations because one of my heart valves is a little funky... they get much worse (more frequent, longer episodes) when I am pregnant. A combo of the hormones and the blood volume can make any pg lady get palpitations I think. Dehydration will make it more likely to happen as will more caffeine than usual (since you're not partaking in any strenuous activity).
But... it could be BH too. I always feel funny in my chest when I get a BH, but it is very different than when I have palpitations and I feel like my heart is fluttering in my throat and I can't catch my breath.
