Babies: 9 - 12 Months

my UO

This may be more of a "sand in my bathing suit" UO, but it is still one, nonetheless.

This is a Baby Names UO, but they don't do them over there, so I'm afraid that y'all are going to have to receive my UO.

I can't stand it when people ask "what do you think of this name?," and responders give name suggestions.  A simple "love it" "like it" or "NMS" would suffice, "how about: _______, _______, ______" is patronizing.

I got that crap when I posted my names over there after we decided on them, and found it so insulting.   If someone asks for help on names, fine.  Give suggestions.

I know it's a random UO, but there's a girl over there right now that just vomits unsolicited name suggestions and it chaps my @ss, and I had to get that off my chest.

Re: my UO

  • Any kind of unsolicited advice really grinds my gears!  So yea I can understand that.  Unfortunately, these boards are full of that kind of "advice".

  • Eh, I think if you post a name on the names board, it's open for any type of debate.  And sometimes the "how about" posters seem like they're trying to be helpful, if the names are a similar style/feel as the name in question.

Exception to the 'open for any type of debate' rule?  When the kid is already born.  I don't care how atrocious the name is, if a baby owns it, it's off limits (I'm looking at you, post from the Texas themed names lady.....)

I hope it's not me! Stick out tongue  I'm pretty regular over there, but I try to only give what the poster asks and I'm never snarky.  I know what you mean, though, and I have a feeling I know who you are talking about.

I don't know what's up with my siggy and I am too lazy to figure it out.
  • When I was pregnant with my daughter (before I knew she was a girl), people kept giving me suggestions like "Hunter", "Kelly", "Forrest"....... Because my last name is Green.

The best one I got, though, was "Soylent".

    *facepalm*

Then, once we revealed her name (Nellie Rose), I actually had one person tell me that she was going to HATE ME for naming her that. That woman almost lost an eyeball to my 9 month pregnant rage.

Also, I had to comment on your Halloween costume. I went as a crazy cat lady three years ago for Halloween and I <3<3<3 yours!!!!!!!
