Recs for an Ob-Gyn affiliated with NY Presbyterian Hospital?

My husband and I are looking to start trying for children in about a year but I'm trying to find a new ob-gyn at a top-rated NYC hospital.  NY Presbyterian was rated #1 for Ob-Gyn and was hoping someone could refer me to a doctor there.

 Thanks!

Re: Recs for an Ob-Gyn affiliated with NY Presbyterian Hospital?

  • I had both my kids with a doctor affiliated with NY Presbyterian Cornell (the one on 68th).  I loved both the doctors in the practice and they were on the NY Best Doctors.  The doctors are Dr. Hutson and Dr. Kessler.  They are located at 523 East 72nd St, 9th floor and the number is (212) 472-5340.

The secretary is Frenee (pronounced with a F plus Renee).  She is really sweet and deals with any tests you need to do with the hospital (everyone gets a 12 week NT test and there are some others) so you don't even have to deal with making appointments..

Dr. Kessler was my OB and Dr. Hutson did both my amnios (I was over 35 so I wanted it).  They are both high risk specialists but when I chose them I didn't know I would end up being high risk.  My friend also chose them and she had a straightforward pregnancy.

I had a lot of complications in my pregnancies and I almost didn't survive my first pregnancy (my kidneys shut down from pre-eclampsia).  I mention that only becasue I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the skill of the doctors and how fast they got me to the hospital and delivered my son.  I can't recommend them enough.

    Good luck with TTC

  • @JillAly - thank you so much for the recommendations for Dr. Hutson & Dr. Kessler.  I will certainly look into them.  Sorry to hear about the complications with your pregnancy, but it must have been good to know you were in such good hands!

  • I highly recommend Dr. Russel Miller. He was amazing. I had to have a shunt placed at 26 weeks due to excess fluid in our baby girls chest cavity. But honestly we had the chance to meet almost every doctor and they all seemed great I don't think you'll find a bad doctor in that entire place.
  • @cheesa27 - thank you for the referral!
  • I was in your boat this time last year (googled best hospital and wanted a doc affiliated with NYP) and I go to Dr. Wenhui Jin at 72nd and York. She is awesome. I felt very comfortable with her, plus I got an ultrasound at every appointment until week 20 (you don't normally get that many, I didnt have complications so I wasnt sure why she did so many since most others only get the first one and then at 20 weeks). Anyway I highly recommend her or Dr. Boester, her colleague who delivered me, she was great too.
