Where do you buy a fresh turkey?

I've been reading about brining and making a fresh turkey and I think I'd really like to try it this year but I have no idea where to buy a fresh turkey.  We live in Macomb county.  Thanks!

I think places like vince and joes have them. My mom always gets fresh and I think that is where she goes.

Mine is too far for you but just in case someone on the west side is looking: we get ours from Roperti's Turkey farm, 5 Mile between Levan & Farmington in Livonia.

You could call someplace like Nino Salvaggios, they probably would have them too...or a local butcher.

Oh my gosh.  Random story- So two years ago around Thanksgiving, I was having a lot of kidney issues so I was going back and forth to St. Mary's Hospital a lot... So before Thanksgiving I would always see all of the turkeys out and about passing by there... then literally the next week after Thanksgiving... NO turkeys.    I am all about eating meat but it was still so sad!!!

this. Except i grew up really close to this place so i watched it happen every year. I love meat as well and I make a big turkey every year but I refuse to eat turkey on thanksgiving day!!! Leftovers inhave no problem with;). I thought that. I was the only one that farm affected!
