Has anyone had any spotting?

I mean recently, not before or around the time you missed your period.  I just had some pink-tinged creamy mucus and of course I'm all sad and think it's happening all over again (even though it started brown last time).

I only saw it once, when I wiped this morning.  Has anyone had any spotting? What did you do..? I don't know who I'm supposed to call or If I should even bother at all since my first appt is tomorrow.  I really hope I dont see it again and that it doesnt get worse.

Re: Has anyone had any spotting?

  • I wouldn't call unless you have severe cramping and it turns bright red.

Have you had sex or a bowel movement lately - that could trigger some spotting.

    Fingers crossed it's nothing.

  • I haven't had any yet- but if I do/did I would call my Dr, I would want and need that piece of mind. Since your first appointment is tomorrow, I would maybe call just so that they can have it on their records...but at the very least I would just bring it up tomorrow. Have fun at your appointment tomorrow!!

No we both havent been in the mood for anything lately, and DEFINITELY won't be with spotting.  I haven't told DH about it because I just feel like keeping this to myself.  He gets over-excited/weird about things like this and I dont want to have to discuss it with him.
  • I had something similar to you on Saturday... thought it was the start of spotting... nothing ever happened and I've been fine since.

  • Its good to know its not worth calling unless it turns bright red/is accompanied by cramping but it never starts like that.  It all starts with spotting.  I really need to relax.. haha
  • I haven't had any spotting yet. However, I have read that others had similar symptoms and turned out they were completely fine.  If you feel more comfortable, give your doctor a call or just wait until your appointment tomorrow.  Best of luck to you!  I am thinking only positive thoughts for you!
  • I had similar to what you described on two separate days -- and I wouldnt even have considered it "spotting," just tinged CM. Not nearly enough for a liner or anything. I would just mention it at your appt tomorrow, but I think it's def normal.

  • There have been quite a few who have posted on the board about spotting in the last couple of weeks...

Some have turned out ok and some not so much.  I think the usual guideline is not to panic unless it's bright red and accompanied with cramping.

  • I haven't yet but I am constantly waiting for it because of my m/c a month ago. BTW, I did call the doctor and asked about progesterone but since it was only a one time m/c they won't put me on it...nor will they do beta tests. When is your first doctor's appt? I am not scheduled until the beginning of December.

You will forever be my best friend. I can almost feel our hugs. I will ensure everyone will know (now and in the future) what a genuine, kind, loving person you were...I already miss your laughter and our daily conversations. I love you, Samantha. May 20, 1983- February 20, 2012
  • Weird that you posted this because I just had some spotting earlier today and became so nervous.  Never had any spotting with my other 2 pregnancies.  I called the dr. because I was so paranoid and she told me that if it wasn't bright red and I wasn't cramping not to worry about it.  I had just gone for a long walk (kind of strenuous with a jogging stroller and hills) so maybe that triggered it but she told me to take it easy rest of day.  I haven't noticed any since (Thank God) and am feeling cruddy (nauseous and tired) which is probably a good thing.  So if it is like spotting and no cramping I wouldnt worry about (or at least try not too).  Unfortunately the dr. told me that there is nothing they can do since the pregnancy is so early but she also said our cervix's at this time is more susceptable to spotting (like if aggravated with intercourse or a strenuous work-out).  Good Luck!

It's tomorrow at 2pm and I'm actually seeing a midwife, not an ob.  I would  be a nervous wreck if I were you (with no b/w).  I had a appt with my family dr the day I got my bfp, got sent for betas & progesterone the next morning and 72 hours later.  I guess it really depends on your dr!
