This is probably a really stupid question but this is my first pregnancy. For the beta tests, do you go back to the doctor for the second test? How often do you have to go back for these tests? Just curious because I've been seeing these a lot and don't know what the routine is.

This is the only time I've ever had beta's done (this is my 4th overall pregnancy, first child). My doctor had them done because I thought I was starting to spot on Thursday last week.
You get them done 48hrs apart, at least. For me, I go to the blood lap (or whatever the technical name its called is) and got it done Friday after seeing my doctor and getting the paperwork from her. She gave me paperwork for Friday and for today. Your doctor can have you go as much as they want or need. It's possible, I'd say, that if your #'s don't double or more after 48hrs they may do another one to see where the numbers are going from there.
