Crazy, right? It feels a little jinxy but I'll definitely need daycare so I'm going to go in today and fill out the form as they suggested when I called.
Wow, I can't imagine doing that this soon. I am going to ask my boss if I can move my office to my house since a few of my co-workers already work from home. If not, I don't know what I will do!

I do WAH but I can't imagine getting anything done work-wise with a baby around!
I think we'll start looking into daycare near the end of the first trimester. I don't want to start looking into anything too soon. I'm torn between "do we go with the one closest to our house? or do we go with the one in DH's office building?"
I had to do this when I was a couple months pregnant with DD for all local childcare...it cost us $50 just to put our names on the list, too! The good news is I found a GREAT dayhome without using the list (her DCP is in a major city we live just outside of), and we got our $50 back.

I live in an area where the waitlists are crazy too. So my husband and I were just talking about how we need to start looking into this so that we have something ready when the time comes. It does seem crazy, and I'm absolutely worried about jinxing myself, but such is life. I'm mostly having trouble getting info, because we are not telling people about our pregnancy for a little while longer, so I'm not sure how to ask my friends/acquaintances who have kids for their recommendations!
BOTH my husband and I work from home and we HAVE to send our daughter to daycare. You will NOT get anything done, I promise you.
I dont wfh but my DD does go to work with me everyday, and it was actually much easier to get stuff done when she was a baby, i used her naptimes to get my work done. I also used a sling alot. Now im constantly having to chase her around, and her naps are alot shorter and less frequent so it makes getting everything done harder.
MH has a daycare (with a really good reputation) at his work. From what we've heard, the waitlist is very long because of it.
Granted...we might NOT even want to use that specific daycare. Maybe we want one closer to home, one that's better on our budget, etc. But we're definitely considering putting our name on the list sometime soon - just in case.
So long as we don't have to move, we have a good friend who will be watching another baby any day now and offered to watch ours as well (with the last pregnancy, I assume to offer stands, but we'll see). Hopefully that works out because ashe's wonderful and has 2 well behaved DDs of her own. Figuring out pay could be complicated, but worth it.
Re: I already have to sign up for daycare.
