Prepping hemp

I know I need to wash/dry them 6-8 times, but do I need to use detergent? I can't remember if I used detergent to prep my other dipes. Thanks!

    To save time and energy (yours and your washer and dryer's) you can boil hemp inserts for about 20 minutes and then wash with your regular diaper wash or prep with a little detergent.
