    Thanks so much for thinking of us! Its been a very long day, but overall things have gone as well as could have been expected. She got her halo, a new set of ear tubes, and a trach. She's on a vent, but we're hoping this will be weened away. 

    I thought I'd prepared myself for the look of the halo, but it still really jolted me to see the screws next to her pale and lifeless skin. 

    Aside from that our only issues have been blood pressure (which they're addressing with blood transfusions) and waking up out of her sedation trembling in pain, but unable to cry.
