Re: wipes/wipes warmer?

  • We have the warmer and I like it. I use cloth wipes and I use a store bought solution. I just get the wipes wet folded in half and then roll them up like little cigars. I can get about 30 wipes in the warmer that way and I do make sure to buy the everfresh pads. Just make sure you keep it really wet so it doesn't scald on the bottom of the warmer. DS loves the warm wipes and I also use them to wipe his face and hands off. He doesn't seem to mind when I use cold wipes when I am not changing him in his room.

  • Thanks for the advice!!  I think I will get the Prince Lionheart warmer!  Do you use any type of cloth wipes in it?

so to keep it wet do you pour water in it first then put wet wipes in the wipes warmer?

I have something in a spray bottle the kissaluvz magic potion or something... I can mix that with water and pour it in?

  • I used cheapo Circo washcloths from Target in an old Huggies container (they seemed to have the best flappies and a good seal, and shoved 6 or 8 in there at a time, then got them wet with plain water. Occasionally a drop of tea tree oil.

So that's an incredibly easy, cheap way to do cloth wipes.

  • Several moms I know IRL that CD have told me that just normal baby wash cloths work great as cloth wipes vs. paying extra for something that is made and called a "reusable wipe". I plan on just trying that route first before buying real cloth wipes.
  • we use the Prince Lionheart warmer.  We roll flannel wipes my mom sewed with a soft fleece on the back.  We bought the LUSA organic wipe juice, but I prefer water with a squirt of baby shampoo and baby oil...shake it up with some water and pour it over the wipes.
