Synagis question

DD has had two of her shots, they only approved her for three shots. Both times she has had a "reaction" of sorts to the shot. Synagis site says upset stomach is a side effect of the meds and DD has been miserable after the shots for a day afterwards. has anyones LO had this problem, i've considered not getting her the third shot because of it and wondering if anyone has had the issue. DH doesn't want her getting the shot because of what has happened both times and i'm on the fence about it.

Awww, I am sorry your LO doesn't react well to the shots, that stinks! I would still give her the third shot; the benefit of getting the shot outweighs the one day of discomfort that results from getting the shot.

I think of the Synagis shot the same way I think of any other vaccination; a necessary treatment that prevents a serious illness but may have some side effects.

Think of it this way...would you decide not to give a second hepatitis B or polio shot because LO was miserable or had an upset stomach after getting the first shot?

I watched my LO spend 9 weeks in the NICU and I dont want ever to put her through that again, especially when it can be prevented. If the tradeoff is that she is uncomfortable for a day after each preventative shot, I am okay with that.

I think I would tell the pedi to monitor closely, just in case, but def proceed with shots.  If the side effects are an upset tummy it is worth it to get the shot but just make sure they watch her in case it gets worse than that.

Andrew got hives once and that's what we did - but he was fine in other shots.  I think he was just stressed out.
