So yea Im not really happy lol. They told me her hearing is fine! So 1month ago she had hearing loss and now after some nose spray she can hear again? It makes no sense to me. I just dont get it. They wanna see us back in three months. I just really cant get over it. I was sitting in the sound booth with DD and with out the head phones I could hear the women talking. Grrr. I think I am gonna find someone to get a second opinon!

I understand you are frustrated and if you feel like you need a second opinion I would get one, but yes it can be as easy as a nose spray. If it helped dry out the fluid in her ears then it really is that simple. DS had 20% hearing in his right ear before tubes the DR cleaned out the fluid and he had 100% literally 2 mintues later so yes it can be that quick.

I went through this with B and to me, it was the best news! Eventually, all her fluid cleared, her hearing returned to 100% and we had no more ear infection issues. After having issues from 6 months until she was 3 years old, she didn't need tubes and I'm glad we avoided it, she outgrew all her issues.

Keep in mind that the hearing tests performed by the audiologist are very intricate.  They are not done to measure only what can and cannot be heard.  They are used to measure hearing at different audible levels, measure the point at which hearing loss may be occurring, and the configuration of the hearing loss (if any).  They also test the movement of the eardrum.  So even though you may have heard the audiologist speaking into the headphones, you don't know what she was measuring at that point so you can't base anything off of it.

It may very well have been that the nose spray was able to open up your DD's passages and drain the fluid in her ear.  But I don't think getting a second opinion would hurt (except your wallet depending on your insurance).
