Ok Mirena users

I got the mirena placed Monday. I had cramping when it was put in and some spotting the next day. The spotting has really stopped (lasted less than a day) but the cramping is still there and?well?hurts.

I don?t remember if I cramped like this with the Paraguard after I had C. But

I?ve never, ever been on any kind of birth control (other than the Paraguard after C for 5-6 months)so I don?t know if it?s my body adjusting to the hormones or not.

I seemed to cramp more this time than I did last time, but spotted less.  The first time I cramped for a day, if that.  This time it was more like five days of cramping.

Have you taken a Motrin or anything?  That helped my camping not be so painful, but it was still there.  Totally gone & A-OK now though!

I've had both. I had cramps for a week after Mirena and only a few hours after Paraguard.

I had pretty severe cramping for 2 weeks. Almost took it out and then things settled down and felt nothing. I loved it and it has such a tiny amount of hormones you shouldn't feel their effects yet if at all.

I cramped for awhile and lightly spotted for over a week after mine got put in.
