So it seems like our house is actually going to sell this time! (Still have my fingers crossed until we get an appraisal back)
We had our inspection yesterday, and I'm waiting for the list of repairs we need to make, but it sounds like there weren't any red flags. We're scheduled to close on the 30th!
Now, something you may all be a little more interested in is that we're going to stop using birth control after closing.
I'm very excited and nervous about this decision, but mostly just because I like to be more prepared for big changes like this. I wanted to save up as much as we could before we even started trying, but I think we'll be able to handle all the expenses even if I got pregnant right away. (Maybe I'm being naive and underestimating how much we'll need, but I did use calculators online to estimate the costs involved in the first year)
Any advice on getting prepared? We're going to talk to a life insurance agent tomorrow to get a new policy (our current policies wouldn't cover the new house and our plans for a family). I also plan on picking up some prenatal vitamins this week.
I'm sure I'm going to have a ton of questions now, so please excuse the newbie; I've never really been around babies much, so this will all be really new to me!
It feels great being able to tell someone about our decision!

Congratulations on many levels!
It sounds like you have a very good grasp on things to do to prepare (insurance, prenatals, gathering info, etc). Enjoy TTC!!!
PS We just put 2 houses on the market at the 1st of this week (Bham area)...so we'll be going through this same thing too- Yikes!
The Baby Blog.
Thanks!!
Good luck with selling your houses! I think the market has picked up a little bit the past month or two, but I'm not sure if that'll continue through the colder months. Hopefully it won't take you nearly as long!

Congrats on the house! And that's exciting news about TTC!
And yeah, just don't stress too much about TTC. Just know going in that it's totally normal for it to take a few months.
I actually really enjoyed charting because it helped me feel like I knew what was going on after being on the pill forever-if you ever feel like you want to look into it, check out fertilityfriend.com or the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
I got pregnant on my 9th cycle charting/after BC-we had been on a TTC break during my last semester of school. Since it did not happen before, we didn't think it would happen until we were 'actively' TTC again-which wasn't going to be until later in the year, and I was bummed at the time about having to put it on the back burner for awhile. But then it happened, so go figure! lol.
Good luck
Thanks, ladies!
We've been trying to decide when to start TTC for a long time, and it kept getting pushed back because we wanted to get things done first. We finally decided to just go for it when we found out the old house should be out of our hair soon and realized we should be able to save up a good bit in the meantime.
Needless to say, I'm anxious for the 30th to get here!

Haha, thanks
Yeah, I'm really glad I moved over to the Bump board when I did. I've been learning a lot along the way, and I love that I can count on you ladies to offer advice!

Yay Karyn!
We're also trying to sell our house. It's been on the market since June and we've had NO offers. It SUCKS! I'm so glad you guys are finally going to sell yours. We're also TTC, so we are pretty much in the same boat. Good luck with everything!
Thanks, ladies!
Aw, man, I'm sorry you're having to go through that, too. Ours had been on the market since January 2nd, so I definitely feel your pain! I hope it happens for you soon!
And yay about TTC! You two are going to have the cutest little babies!
