23w2d w/twins and soft cervix?

Hi Ladies! Quick background: We placed a cerclage at 12w6d and started 17p shots at 16w6d. Despite a scare with subchorionic hematomas, and GD, everything has been perfect. I had an u/s last week, and my cervix was firm and holding at 4.5-4.9. Then at today's u/s it was long but begininng to soften. I swear I saw the tech measure it at 3.5 and the second time 2.9, but the mfm said it was 3.9. She sent me home with vag. progestrone, and told me to take it easy, and come back in a wk. If it shortens then we're looking at admitting me into hospital. needless to say I am terrified and all I've been doing is crying and praying. She mentioned viability being 23w bc our hospital has a level 3 NICU, but said our BIG milestone is 28w. Of course we know the odds are against us if we deliver too soon..I'm sorry this got so extremely long.. I'm just beyond scared.. Do you think I would be over reacting if I ask her to admit me now so at least I know I'm being monitored daily? Not sure what type of monitoring they could do for this.. I just don't know how long it will take for a soft cervix to dialte.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ladies.

I have no idea but my thoughts and prayers are with you! Can you just stay on bed rest maybe? Not sure how that works.

I am so sorry you are going through this.  Did you talk to the Dr at that apt?  I would call and speak to the DR about your concerns.  Either he will calm you down or watch you more closly.

I hope they keep baking a little longer for you!

Given your history, I would call the doctor and express my concerns and see what they say. I'm sure they'll be able to better advise you and help to assuage your fears and/or give you additional monitoring. GL!

Thanks ladies. Yes I dod speak to the MFM at the appt after the u/s. She told me worst case scenario and best case scenario. Pretty much said my cervix is still closed and fairly long, and wanted to add the vag progestrone on top of the 17p shots, IF I shorten then hospital bedrest. Of course when we got home is when I started to panic. I emailed her nurse and asked some questions about the vag progestrone and what it could do for my cervix, but didn't call and ask to be admitted to hospital right now. I may just stay on strict bed rest and see how I fair at my next u/s (wed), I don't know I'm all over the place. E&RMommy thanks for ur reply, I paged you back!
