I'm having a really hard time sticking with CDing. At this point, CDing is costing us way more than sposies and we've had lots of mishaps with the washing routine. Due to the frequency of dirty diapers & the size of my stash/DD's size, we are having to do wash every other day/2 days in the community laundry. So, $15/week. Twice, the washer has broken, mid-wash and I've had to fish diapers out of a filled tub and start all over, making it cost an additional $1.65.
I bought some GroBaby diapers, and DD peed up the back, soaking her clothes & I can't figure out what I did wrong. I just feel like every time I try to go into a week with the intention of exclusively using CDs, something goes awry.
Obviously, most (if not all) of you CD. Would you stick it out at this point? I feel like the only reason I am not willing to throw in the towel is b/c of the environmental impact of disposables - but with me staying home w/out pay & DH not making what he was, suddenly, the cost issue is becoming very real. Ugh, I don't know!
Re: XP - WWYD?
This is why the argument that "poor people should just cd" doesn't fly... (sorry, slight tangent).
Have you done a cost comparison as to what your cost for disposables would be? Will you move at some point to a place with a washer/dryer?
Is the environment side more important to you than the money side?
