Christmas Stockings

I know it feels early for this, but I am trying to get ready for a birthday party and Chritsmas all at one time.

I am looking for new stockings. I LOVE the ones DH and I have, but I couldn't find anything to match or compliment last year for Madi.

Where did you find yours or where would you recommend looking?

Ours are from Pottery Barn.  I need to order Charlotte one to match ours, but I haven't got around to it yet.

I am interested in this too.  I have nice solid red stockings with our initials for DH and me, but would love to get new ones now that we have the kids.  Last year I decided just to get Allie a really cute pink one from Target since we were not finished having kids.  Now that I am pregnant again (and know that it is a girl, and have her name picked out) I want to go ahead and order nice ones for all of us that match.

Hobby Lobby has a large selection of nice stokings and also PersonalCreations.com has really nice ones and the personalization is included I think.

This is where I got the ones J and have now but I am interested in getting a new matching set for the family.

I love ours too (mine and DH's).  I need to get one for M because I never got around to it last year (yes I feel bad).  I got ours from Pier 1 and I don't think I will replace them.  I love them too much and although I'm glad to have a family now, it's a sweet reminder for me of our Christmas's spent as hubby and wife before babies. 

I think I will look for one for DS that don't necessarily match but coordinate well with the ones we have. And when I find that I'll buy two just in case we have another child later on.

I got lucky last year and found a couple that coordinated well with the ones I already had for me and Wes.  I bought both of them, one is Aubrey's and the other is put up for baby number 2.  Oh I got all of ours at Hobby Lobby and then took them to get the monogrammed with our names.

I have some needlepoint stockings that I got from TJMaxx just for decoration. They don't all match but they are the same size and look like they are old and supposed to go together. Each one has christmas scenes on it... a snowman, a santa, an angel, a dog, etc.

But, those aren't actually the ones we use on Christmas. We celebrate Christmas with my family every year and in my family, homemade stockings are a tradition (we keep those stockings at my mom's house.) My mom still uses her stocking from when she was a child, which is an old felt stocking with appliques on it that my grandmother made. My stocking is one that my grandmother knit for me when I was a kid. (my sister's is matching.) I'm hoping I can convince my grandmother to make some kind of stocking for Kennedy, one that she can use her entire life. It's kind of nice that even though our stockings don't match, there is a story behind each one.

What a great idea! This is good timing on this topic. I thought I might try and sew some stockings and have them monogrammed but I may check out Hobby Lobby because with this PG I have no energy to do anything craftsy anymore. Thanks for the idea!

I have another question about monogramming.

If I order 4 new stockings, do you think I should have Dad & Mom put on ours, or our first names?  I think my parents just say Dad & Mom.

This is just great Rory!! Now you've given me something else to consider because ours have our first names.  I never even thought of them saying Mom and Dad but it is something to consider...

I made a quick run into Hobby Lobby yesterday, and they have so much stuff! I think I found what I want. Something somewhat traditional, but still fun. I okay if they don't all match perfectly, but I at least want them to compliment and I couldn't find anything. Oh well!

I remember my parents actually had their names on them. IDK what we will put on them.

So glad I am not the only person leaping to Christmas already.
