All of these Christmas toys everyone is buying, I have had to look up.
Leap frog explorer?
Go go walk puppies?
Lalala weirdo dolls?
How do your kids know about all of these toys? Tv? friends? what?
Lucas asked for fruit snacks for Christmas. Warms my heart.
Re: I can't decide whether I am happy or sad...
LOL randomly at my house you'll here this:
B: MOM, can I have that?
Me: Sure babe (as I wash dishes in a completely different room not even seeing what she's talking about.
She gets a kick out of it and I have yet to have her hold me to it.
Oh, I know. I have no idea what any of these things are. We were looking for a birthday gift at Target last weekend, and I saw one of those Loopsy dolls (whatever they are called). I showed Rory and just to see her reaction I said, "Isn't this cute? Maybe you could ask Santa for this?" ...no interest whatsoever.
And then after, I thought about buying the pink one to send to mlm's husband since he has been looking all over. LOL!
Rory has been reminding me over and over, though, that she wants some baby that eats real food because one of the girls at daycare brought it one day.
Christmas 2011
Well, Law wants everything he sees on TV. He also wants to explore the toy department every time we go to Target "to see what he wants for KickMuss." Then we got the TRU Big Toy Book last week and he's literally spent hours looking through every page. He circled almost everything and on the "girly, pink" pages, he marked stuff for his "baby sisser."
The stuff he wants is fairly generic/general, though, other than a penguin Pillow Pet (which he's wanted for MONTHS). He basically wants race tracks, race cars, trains and trucks. I have no clue what a LaLaLoopsy doll is (or any of those other things you mentioned). He does want a MobiGo, but he saw that in the store, not on TV.
His most hilarious request has been the automatic toothpaste dispenser. LOL.
We do the same thing! This is why I stick to the shows on the On Demand. No commercials. Because she will say she wants everything she sees while she is watching.
Commercials! They are the devil!
Every.single.commercial L says "can I have that" or "I want that"
If its a girl toy the girls ask "is that a big girl toy" "can I have that" "I want that" "will santa bring me one"
Its soooo annoying! But I remember doing the same thing and how excited I used to get around christmas when all the "good" commercials would come on.
My girls are getting a Lalaloopsy freaky doll from my gma. I bought the LF Explorer things for all 3 on Monday but they wanted those when they saw them in the store back in the summer. Now there is a $10 coupon for them. Yeah, taking mine back so I can save $30.
I know what most of the toys are because we walk around the toy section starting in Oct. to get ideas for santa. I write down things they play with the most when we go. We usually go to WM, Target and TRU at least once each to gather ideas. I want to make sure they know what the toys are before I just randomly go shopping for things I "think" they may like.
I haven't heard either. DS rarely sees commercials - NickJr and PBS don't have many. He mostly watches OnDemand anyway. When he does say he wants something, I usually just nod and say 'OK, save your money' without looking to see what it is.
The only time I got him something because of a commercial was Moon Sand. Lesson learned.
You should be happy!
DH introduced DS to a station other than PBS or Nick Jr or Disney whatever that has Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I curse that day. He saw his first commercials and has had a case of the "gimmies" ever since. Now, DS doesn't know what things you're talking about, but he has plenty of things that he wants. I keep telling him to ask Santa for it. He wants just about every toy he sees. Walking through the toy department in Target can last hours.
Mainly her friends at school or her older cousins. She heard about Twinkletoes, Polly Pocket and Hello Kitty, all through them.
Her obsession with Littlest Pet Shop actually started because they have a small play set for "Toy Work" at school. She loves it, and apparently, all the girls try to get to school early so they can grab the LPS. I don't mind, as I think they are fairly low on the obnoxious scale, and honestly, without it, I'd be at a lost for what to buy her.
I did ask her if she had seen the LalaLoopsy dolls, and she has not. I was kind of hoping she had and wanted one because I have no idea what to get her for Christmas.
The other stuff, I've not heard of, either. We do go down the toy aisle a lot though, as we have 24 cousins between our two families to shop for.
