CPAP & Skin breakdown

Well, Reid is back on the ventilator.  The frustrating part is that he was tolerating the CPAP but his nose was breaking down from it so they reintubated him.  From 7 p.m. last night to 7 a.m. this morning his little nose was raw and a little bloody.  I feel so bad for him.  This NICU roller coaster stinks!

    I think the hardest part of the NICU for me was that progress is not linear, and that set backs do occur before more progress is made. Hang in there! I'm sure good news is just around the corner.

    Poor guy.  :(  hope his nose is better. 

     My DD ... I used the duoderm as a barrier on her upper lip.....  and at home, when she was on a nasal cannula for a few months...  I used a teeny tiny bit of Aquaphor by her nose. 

     ((Hugs))  NICU is stressful.

    Sorry the hear this! The setbacks are so heartbreaking. I hope that the little guy's nose feels better soon. Hang in there mama!

    I am so sorry! Poor guy! Hoping his little nose does better and he is back on cpap before you know it!
