So I met a random lady this morning who is an identical twin.

her: They're identical (looking at L & J)
me: Yes, we think so.
her: They are. If they weren't, one would have light hair and one would have dark hair. One would have light eyes and one would have dark eyes.
me: oh
her: When they get older, if one cuts her hair they will still be identical.

 Seriously lady??  I think she thought she was educating me.  I didn't bother to correct her.  I know people are very uneducated when it comes to twins, but you would think someone who is a twin would know a thing or two!

    I love that! As if you thought cutting their hair might change their entire genetic make-up.

    I can think of so many follow-up questions for that lady - like "What if one likes pants and one likes dresses - that would make them fraternal, right?"

    LOL!  Her twin was probably named Frank, but since they both have dark hair and eyes, they're identical right - even if Frank does have shorter hair.

    hahahahaha!!!! See this is not frustrating to me, it's awesome!  People are so out there it's funny.  And I dont think just because people are twins or even knew/grew up with twins it makes them more knowledgeable about them.  Supposedly the Olsen twins are fraternal...im sure many people would try to argue.

    I had a woman in the grocery store tell me that my boys had to be identical because they are both boys, and fraternal twins are always a boy and a girl.  And she had twins of her own!

    I had to explain that I knew for a fact my boys came from two different eggs fertilized by two different sperm, which makes them fraternal.
