"For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me the petition which I asked of him." 1 Samuel 1:27
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5
Liza--blech. It puts me in mind of Liza Minelli and I just cannot stand her. I could get behind Eliza, though it's still not a favorite.
Anne--love.
Essie--I love it as a nickname, but I'm not certain how I feel about it as a standalone. It doesn't seem like it would mature well as a given name.
Tess--loved this name until I heard from more than one Tess that she was called "testicles" throughout middle school.
Sydney--I know it's unisex, but I still see it as a boys' name. And I'm just not a huge fan of place names, unless the place is incredibly special to you/your family.
I LOVE Anne/Annie. If it sounded good with our last name, it would totally be on my list. I think it's so beautiful and underused. I also like Audrey. The rest are NMS.

Liza - blah, I really don't like this Elizabeth diminutive - looks like a drag queen name to me...maybe just my own associations. Funny because I don't mind Eliza in comparison
Anne - lovely, solid name with a great spelling
Essie - sounds like a nick name for something longer, but I have no idea what. Also sounds like hussy
TTC #1 for over 5 years - too many to count IF treatments (tried everything and anything), repeat miscarriages.

Audrey...
I prefer Anna to Anne...but Anne would be my second choice from your list.
A few of those (Essie, Tess, Liza) seem to be more like NN than real names to me.
I like Audrey the best
Audrey - I really like, but everyone I have mentioned it to IRL hates it (including DH) so it's been taken off the list
Liza - I don't care for. I think it's the z, it sounds too harsh IMO.
Anne (really like NN Annie) - I like, but I prefer Anna to Anne
Essie - I don't like at all. It reminds me of a dairy cow.
Tess - I like! I Like Tessa too.
Sydney - Not very feminine or partcularly pretty sounding IMO.
So from your list, I vote for Audrey, Tess or Anna (but that's not technically on the list lol)

I love Eliza, but I'm not sure how I feel about just Liza. I think I still like it, but I prefer Eliza.
I think Annie is cute. I prefer Anna though.
Sydney is okay.
The others are nms.

I like Sydney and Anne. The rest are NMS.
Just a warning with Liza...people will mispronounce it. Lisa, Leesa, Lies-a. poor thing will forever have to go through her life correcting people.
