I should know this by now so forgive me...but are the pains that feel like you are being poked in the cervix called lightening crotch? And is there any medical explanation for this phenomenon or is it just plain pregnancy fun?
i have never heard of that, Lightening Crotch but i was just thinking about posting about achiness in the area. i don't have stabbing but it just aches on one side...its annoying.
i have never had this before and i am on baby #3... i would like some input too.

I'm having this pain this time around as well. My midwife told me that it is pubic symphasis diastasis - basically your pubic bone separate from stress. The ligaments are supporting your pelvis much more than normal so it aches. She suggested I buy a maternity support band. I've been using it and it helps SOOOO much.
I think they are different. I've had muscle spasm pains, which I consider lightning crotch. And now I'm having sharp, sudden, internal pains, which I think are the LO kicking the cervix.

Last year with DD's pregnancy Lightening Crotch was a super common term on the boards and it always meant this. Actually shooting pain in your crotch.
