Not BR...Say Yes to the Dress

I'm home sick today so I've been watching Say Yes to the Dress and whatever that other wedding dress show is (and yes i'm already married and still like to watch).  The last chick spent $14,000 on a wedding dress. Yes, $14,000.  But she had a jacked up grill. I think I'd rather spend $2k on a dress and use the rest to get my teeth fixed!

God I love sick days and idiotic show marathons, slugging makes me feel a LOT better!

Re: Not BR...Say Yes to the Dress

  • I thought I was splurging with $1250 on my dress.  Now I know that they would have laughed in my face if I would have used that as budget.

  • I saw that!!!  She was so 'jersey shore'... she should've used the money for her teeth and a better tan

I just saw that one too and totally agree!!!! I could never imagine spending that much on a dress.

  • I love that show!  I saw an episode a couple of weeks ago where a girl bought a sample dress off the rack and had them alter it to include a feather boa around the hem, feathers at a gathering on her hip, and extra sequins.  She was trying for a more dramatic look, but it was god awful!

My other secret favorite is Bridezillas.

Me too! That's pretty much exactly how much I spent on my dress, I thought I was going over board since it was the most expensive thing about my wedding. I watch that show and am just flabbergasted at how much these women think is ok to spend on a dress. There was one episode where a girl was coming in to buy her THIRD wedding dress for the same wedding, yes she was going to put on three different wedding dresses over the course of the eveningIndifferent!

Oh this show is awesome! Have you seen the episode with the lady who refers to herself as a queen? She buys a gun in case there are any unwanted guests, asks a complete stranger to pump her gas for her because she is a queen, and when calling vendors for things for her wedding, she made sure to tell them that it was very important and for a queen! Bahahaha!

  • That show bugs me to no end.  I find myself wanting to throw something hard at my TV when I watch it.  I have no idea how these women allow friends or family to determine their dress, if I was up there in what I thought was in my dream dress...the hell I'd let some bltch with a jealousy issue tell me I looked bad in it. One episode was crazy, a lady was letting her two young step-daughters give the thumbs up or down...I  had to scoop my mouth off the floor.  She really liked a dress and she was boo-hooing over the fact that a 7-year old didn't like it?  Give me a break!

And then there's the over-indulged princesses who find out that they don't like their dress and they now need another.  Give me a break!

OMG!  I missed that one!  I can only fit these in when DH isn't home, so I haven't seen them all.  I did like the girl who got in a fist fight with one of her BMs while getting ready for the ceremony.  Klassy.
