Dilemma

I went in for an ultrasound today for some spotting over the weekend. The doctor said everything looks great -- and it also looks like we're having a girl! But now I feel guilty because DH and I were supposed to find out together in two weeks. Should I tell DH the doctor's guess? It's just a guess at this point, of course, but now I'm kicking myself for "finding out" -- clearly I didn't think it through in the moment!

it's not your fault the doc spoiled ur plans!! So don't feel guilty!  Be honest with DH for sure!  Give him the option to know or wait.

Agree with PP: Honesty is the best policy! You don't need the stress/guilt that comes with keeping up a lie while you are pregnant, for sure.

I agree.  If the roles were reversed - would you want DH to tell you or keep it from you?  This way you're at least being honest with him.

Agreed - it's not like you went behind his back.  You went in for something else, and happened to find out.  And let's face it, once he finds out his baby is healthy, nothing else will really matter!

Thanks, everyone! That's what I was hoping to hear. I don't want to keep this from him ... and even though I "let" the doctor tell me, her little bottom was the first thing to pop up on the screen. DH can't fault me for that! And we'll still get confirmation together that she (or he, if the doctor is wrong) is healthy -- and that's what the anatomy scan is for after all.

It really is a guess so I don't see the harm in telling your husband because you guys will find out for sure in a bit. FWIW, at 18 weeks, they said I was having a girl and three weeks later she had grown a peen. They all look like girls until they don't.
