Nap/Bedtime Protestor...

Do they go in phases where sometimes nap/bedtime is easy and sometimes they protest it?  DD was very, very good about taking naps and going to bed-she'd be asleep within 20mins of us putting her down (usually less)---and she wouldn't cry at all-mostly would just play herself to sleep. The past week or so has been awful. As soon as she knows we're heading up for a nap/bed, she cries the entire time we get her ready. She won't sit and read stories anymore (she wants to get down and play) and stalls like crazy to go to bed. When we finally get her in her crib, it takes her forever to fall asleep and she cries most of the time now. Do they just go in and out of these phases or what?!

Evan went through this...not fun...we read Sleep Lady's Sleep Tight Good Night (as recommended by Jewels) and all of our sleep problems have been solve.  He goes down so easy for both, and it used to be a struggle that would take up to an hour+ at times.

He does still go through phases like that. Right now we're in the easy phase. It will probably last a few months, then we'll have one bad week or so. We just tried to continue being consistent about putting him to be, going in at the designated intervals, if need be. Eventually it works itself out.
