Help!! Crying in sleep.

We are having sleeping issues.  LO started STTN at 8 weeks (so lucky).  Starting about 2 weeks ago (3.5 months old) he started to cry around 2-3am every night.  A loud cry too!  Not just fussing.  He will do this for at least 5 minutes ? not longer than 10 minutes and then go to sleep.  Sometimes I will go in and check on him and he is asleep, but crying with tears on his cheeks.  It is so weird. 

 

I have heard about the 4 month wake period.  Is this it?  We started cereal 2 days ago and we hoped that would help, it hasn?t. 

 

I am happy he gets back to sleep okay and on his own but it makes me sad to see real tears while he is sleeping!

    DS did this a while back and the Pedi said it is probably growing pains and/or teething pains...

    DS does this every single night. I don't know what's going on but he doesn't wake up and he seems fine so I let him be. He has done this for months. The doc said that unless he was showing some other symptoms that it was fine. He even commented on the fact that his daughter did the same thing when she was a baby.
