How is Nolan's diaper rash doing? Is it getting better? The expensive cream that I got is working which is great. I would say it is 90% cleared up. I am also liking the Luvs diapers. DH had a blowout with them the first day and now says that he doesn't like them. I haven't had an issue with them yet. Hopefully if he doesn't have any more issues and will decide he isn't so against them.
Re: ::Mr.&Mrs.S::
I am so glad Hayden is doing better! It is so sad to see them in pain! And glad you are liking the Luv's diapers. We have used them for a while now, and have never had an issue. (I only bought Target brand last time because BJ's was packed and I didnt want to deal with the lines so I went to Target instead...but when I did the math the Target diapers came out to .19 cents a diaper and Luvs were .20 cents a diaper...so not even a big difference.) But I can't believe that cream cost you $80, that is nuts!
Here is my Nolan saga! I will try and make it as short as possible.
So last Thursday his bum was just a littl red, and overnight it became full of sores and blood blisters. It just got horrible overnight! I thought we had put cornstarch on him...turns out it was baking powder! (They are in idential containers). You would think that wouldnt be so bad because baking powder and baking soda can be used to cure minor skin irrations. But apparently, Nolan is allergic to it! So when we went to the pedi last Friday he gave us a cream and said it should be back to normal by Tuesday. Come Monday, when it wasnt much better, I kept him home from day care and wanted to take him back to the pedi. That is when they said not to come in and to try the home remedy I told you about (Desatin, Vasoline, Milk of Magnesia, and Eucerine cream) and give it 2 days. Well this morning not only was it not gone, but he was getting huge holes in his bum. I thought it was MRSA (bad staph infection) and I freaked! DH took him to the pedi and he was very concerned. He didnt know what it was. He took a culture...turns out he has strep bum! (Same as strep throat only on his bum). The doctor he saw was about 85 years old and he said he has only seen that a few times, ever. And my poor peanut got it! But thankfully he should be on the right cream and meds now. They said it should be gone by Monday. I really hope so! Poor boy wont even sit down and tenses his whole body when you pick him up because it is so sore.
Thanks for checking on us! (Sorry that got so long!)
Oh no, poor Nolan. How horrible. I would have panicked as well. That does not sound like fun and make me feel so bad for him. Let's hope that he will soon be feeling better and back to himself. I can only imagine how much it hurts.
I couldn't believe the cream cost that much either. I had a post last night updating about his rash and another person told me that the Vusion cream is the best their is even though it is very expensive. The only reason we have it is because our insurance covers part of it and we have a medical reimbursement so we will get the money back for it.
I know, it was kind of crazy. It took a few days before I realized it was baking powder. I thought it was cornstarch I had put on him. And I thought it was a yeast rash and that was why it spread so bad (since yeast feeds on cornstarch). Ugh. Talk about guilt! But he should be on the mend now.
And it stinks that cream was so expensive...but if it works, then I guess it is worth it! I hope Hayden is 100% better soon!
