We had a Toyota Matrix. I had started making some really loud noises and then it stopped accelerating.
Took it to the maintenance guy we've always used and trusted and he lists all these things wrong with it and basically that it wasn't worth (given the miles on the car) it to fix it.
Car sits for months in your driveway until one of MrBunny's coworkers offers to take it off our hands so he can tinker with it.
Not a problem. Hey if he has fun, more power to him.
He has it fixed for under $1000. Granted that's mostly because he bought the parts online and did the work himself. Drove it to work today. Runs perfectly fine. Apparently it was a fuel pump issue not a transmission issue.
I can not tell you how aggravated I am. We got screwed, big time.
Re: I am so fuucking pissed right now
Yeah, that would piss me off.
We dumped my old Civic off for $1K, but it took another $1K for the buyer to fix it and make it driveable. He ended up giving it to his sister, which was A-OK with me.
