where do you get your apps?  i'm trying to decide between an iphone and a droid x.  i don't really need the ipod part of the iphone so i'm just trying to make a decision.  if i stay with at&t i will get the iphone but if i switch to verizon (in march) i will get the droid.

so anyway, just checking to see what's out there to help my decision.

thanks!

Re: droid users

  • I have a droid x, and love it--so much better than my blackberry storm.  My brother has one as well and that was what made me get it.  There is a market icon when you get your phone that you can get apps.  I like to search through the "top free" category to find good ones.  I ended up going through ebates & the wirefly store--it was a little bit of a pain getting it set up but I didn't have to pay tax or shipping, they had it in stock, I got $15 back on ebates, and a $30 bill credit.  I ended up paying 185 or 190 with a car charger, where at verizon you had to pay $299+tax and then get a $100 pre-paid gift card rebate.

  • I love my droid!  I get my apps through the phone...there's an app market place where you can search for what you want.  I have the Ally, and it was free with my upgrade!  Verizon does company discounts, so you should check into that.  My husband gets a discount for working at IUPUI.
  • Ditto the others. There's a Market where you buy or download (free) apps.

I love my Droid! We got a company discount through Verizon, too.

  • I have (& love) a droid!  I've never paid for an app (I get them thought the "market" on the phone), but I have a few that I think I'm going to break down and pay for.

I upgraded from a basic phone with no texting plan, so I love my droid and all of its fun stuff!
