The last couple days I have been having a lot of back pain which I just assumed was from the pregnancy. Last night it got really bad... I couldn't lay in one position... I had to keep getting up (and kept my poor husband up in the process!) and moving around. I tried a heating pad which felt really good but I was afraid to use it for an extended amount of time.
Today has been horrible, I can't sit, stand or lay down and get comfortable!
I called the Dr. and the nurse asked me:
Have you been urinating more = yes but I go through stages where I will have to urinate all the time so I haven't thought much about it.
Are you urinating a lot when you go = no, not as much as normal but I am drinking a TON of water!
Does it hurt when you urinate = it does burn a bit but nothing terrible... however I feel a lot of pressure when I urinate.
The nurse kind of hinted at she thought it might be a bladder/kidney infection so I am going in today at 4:15 to have it checked out... my real question is... does anyone else know what could be causing the intense pressure I feel when going to the bathroom? Its enough pressure to cause me to wonder if I am going to have the baby in the toilet! As soon as I get up I am fine and the pressure generally goes away within a few minutes! Could it be related to the bladder/kidney infection I possibly have?
Re: What could it be?
It sounds to me like you have a UTI. I hope you feel better soon!
ETA: It's entirely possible that the UTI is making you have BH contractions, and that is the cause of the pressure you are feeling.
yes, sounds like a uti of sorts.
good luck!
Thanks everyone... hopefully this will explain everything!
I never even thought about the pressure being BH, I guess because this is my first pregnancy and I don't know exactly what BH feel like normally. Thanks for mentioning that...
