Just had a full term baby after preemie

I don't post a lot, but I do lurk here quite a bit and gained courage after reading success stories, so I hope you don't consider this a drive by post...

 I had my first son at 31 weeks after pPROM-ing at 29 weeks (no known reason for pPROM -- maybe due to multiple subchorionic hemorrhaeges early in the pregnancy).  He's 22 months old now and doing great. 

Two weeks ago, I had my 2nd son at 39 weeks.  We didn't do anything differently during this pregnancy other than more frequent ultrasounds (but that wouldn't really help).  So, this baby weighed in at 9 lbs 3 oz -- which is ALOT different than the 4 lb-er I had last time.

Congratulations!  Can I ask if you were offered P17 shots?  I'm newly pregnant with #2 and I've been told these shots will help prevent another premature birth (I pPROM'd at 34w 4d with DS#1).

My doctor (and MFM) told me that the P17 shots are effective if you had any contractions/pre-term labor or went into labor right away.  In my case, my water broke and I didn't have any contractions or go into labor for 2 weeks, so they didn't think it would be helpful.

Congrats to you!  I got to full-term this time around, too and now just waiting.  It is such a great feeling!  So happy you go there!

Thats great! I am hoping for a full term baby or a longer term baby this time. I had my son at 26 weeks and I don't know if I can do it this time with a son at home. Wish everyone luck!
